As of October 31, 2007 we own and operate 221 funeral homes and 139 cemeteries in 24 states. Through these locations, we offer a wide range of funeral and cemetery merchandise and services, plus cemetery property, both at the time of need and on a preneed basis. Our historyOur firm was founded in 1910 when the Stewart family entered the cemetery and stone memorial construction business in New Orleans, La. In 1991, our Company held its initial public offering and began trading Oct. 9 on the Nasdaq National Market System with the ticker symbol STEI.
